Sonar
Connect Sonar so the AI agent knows who’s calling, reads their balance live, takes a payment with the card on file and opens tickets in Sonar.
- Plan
- Telco Ops Bundle (Sonar is part of its Telecom Connector Pack)
- You need
- Your Sonar address and an API token
- Where
- Build > Apps > Sonar
Before you start
Create the API token on a Sonar user set aside for Crulon, not on a person’s login. Sonar limits each user to 400 requests a minute, and that limit is shared with anything else the user does in Sonar.
The token’s user needs to read accounts, contacts, services and equipment. If you plan to turn on ticket push or payments, it also needs to create and close tickets and take card payments.
Connect Sonar
Install the App
In Crulon, open Build > Apps, choose Sonar and select Install Sonar.
Add your Sonar details
Under Connector setup, fill in:
- Sonar GraphQL URL: your Sonar address with
/api/graphqlon the end, for examplehttps://yourcompany.sonar.software/api/graphql. It must start withhttps. - API token: from Sonar, under My Account > API keys.
Connect
Select Connect. Crulon checks the token before it saves it. You can check again at any time with Test connection under Connection health.
What comes across
Crulon copies your Sonar accounts into Crulon: every hour by default, with a full pass at least once a day. Change how often under Sync cadence, from every 15 minutes to daily, or run a sync yourself.
| In Sonar | In Crulon |
|---|---|
| An account | A contact, with every phone number on the account and whose it is |
| Account details | Service address, services, account groups, next bill date and a link back to the account |
| Balance | Amount due and anything past due |
| Equipment | An asset for each item, with its MAC address, serial number, IP address and status |
| Texting consent | Numbers that opted out are added to your opt-out list |
Saved cards and usage data are not copied.
What the agent can do on a call
Attach these tools to your agent under Business Tools:
- Look up customer finds the account from the number the caller rings from, or by account number or phone number if they call from somewhere else.
- Check balance and billing reads the balance from Sonar as the caller asks. If Sonar doesn’t answer, the agent uses the last copy and says how old it is.
- Take a payment charges a card already saved on the account in Sonar.
- Create ticket opens a ticket for the caller’s problem.
Payments
Payments are off until you turn them on in the Payments card: Allow the AI agent to charge cards on file. Before it charges, the agent is told to read back the amount and the card’s last four digits and wait for the caller to say yes, and it can’t charge until it marks that the caller agreed. Crulon never takes a card number over the phone.
While payments are off, the agent tells callers it can’t take card payments on this line and explains the other ways to pay.
Tickets in Sonar
Ticket push is off until you turn it on in the Ticket sync card:
- Create a provider ticket when one is created here creates each ticket in Sonar, in the ticket group you choose.
- Close the provider’s ticket when this one closes closes it in Sonar too.
- Create a ticket at the end of every call files a call summary ticket after each call.
Crulon doesn’t change accounts, services or billing settings in Sonar.
Restarting equipment
Sonar brings in each account’s equipment, but checking a device live or restarting it needs an equipment App: UISP, Cambium cnMaestro, Nokia Corteca or TP-Link TAUC.
If something goes wrong
The token is wrong, expired or was deleted in Sonar. Create a new token and enter it again under Connector setup.
Check that the address is right, ends in /api/graphql and starts with https, and that your Sonar instance is up.
Something in front of your Sonar instance is turning Crulon away. Ask whoever runs your network to let Crulon’s requests through.
Turn off Scheduled sync to stop copying straight away; nothing already copied is deleted. To remove the App completely, email support@crulon.ai.
