TP-Link TAUC

Connect TP-Link TAUC so the AI agent can check a caller’s TP-Link equipment, read its Wi-Fi details and restart it.

Plan
Telco Ops Bundle (part of its Telecom Connector Pack)
You need
A TAUC OpenAPI client: its address, client ID and secret, and its certificate and key if you use one
Where
Build > Apps > TP-Link TAUC

Read How equipment Apps work first: TAUC checks and restarts equipment that your billing App brings into Crulon.

Before you start

TAUC only accepts requests from addresses you allow. Email support@crulon.ai for Crulon’s address, and add it under API Gateway > OpenAPI Client > IP Whitelist in the TAUC console. Until you do, the connection test fails.

Connect TAUC

  1. In the TAUC console, create an OpenAPI client and note its address, Client ID and Client secret. If your TAUC uses certificates, download the client certificate and key from its CA section.
  2. In Crulon, open Build > Apps, choose TP-Link TAUC and install it.
  3. Under Device provider setup, enter the address, client ID and secret, and paste the Client certificate (PEM) and Client key (PEM) if you have them.

Crulon tests the connection by reading your device inventory.

Finding a device

TAUC needs each device’s MAC address and serial number, both from your billing App. Sonar and ViSP bring in both. Equipment from Splynx has no serial number in Crulon, so TAUC can’t reach it. TAUC serves TP-Link equipment to start.

What status shows

Whether the device is online, its name, model, type, firmware, serial number, IP address, uptime and CPU and memory use, its network status and any issues TAUC has found, its internet connection, and the devices connected to it, with their signal. On a mesh system it reads the node that matches the device.

Wi-Fi details

TAUC adds an Action that reads each Wi-Fi network on the caller’s router: its name, band, channel, width and security, and whether it’s on or hidden. It never reads the Wi-Fi password and changes nothing. There’s no template for it: in Tool Builder, start a blank Tool and pick it in an Action node. From Crulon, run it from the device’s page.
