About Crulon

What is Crulon?

An AI-first business phone system. An AI agent answers your business line, does the work in your systems through Tools, such as looking up the caller or opening a ticket, and hands the call to your team with a note on why they’re calling. Your team answers in the browser or on desk phones, and every call is saved with its recording, transcript and summary.

Does it replace my CRM?

No. Crulon is the phone system, and it works alongside the CRM you have. It keeps light records, contacts and tickets, so the agent can recognise callers and log work. To connect your own systems, use a Custom Action.

Who is it for?

Any business that lives on the phone: home services, property managers, IT providers, trades, shops and more. Internet providers get extra Apps; see Crulon for internet providers.

Which countries does it work in?

Workspaces in the United States and Canada can use every plan and get numbers from Crulon. Workspaces in Australia and New Zealand use Scale with your own carrier. See Workspace country.

Plans and pricing

How much does it cost?

Starter is $24, Pro $49 and Scale $89 per seat a month, billed monthly. Each plan includes a pool of AI minutes for the workspace: 60, 150 or 300 a month. See Plans and billing.

What happens when the AI minutes run out?

Calls with the AI agent are paid from your prepaid credits, at 25¢ a minute. If those run out too, new calls skip the agent and follow your Call Flow’s “If the AI can’t answer” route, such as ringing your team or voicemail. See When the minutes run out.

Who needs a seat?

Every member of your workspace, whatever their role. Each seat includes one US phone number. See Seats.

Is there annual billing?

Not yet: plans are billed monthly. Annual billing is coming soon.

How do I cancel?

The workspace owner selects Cancel plan in Settings > Plan & billing. Your plan runs to the end of the billing period, your numbers are held for 30 days and your data is kept for 90. See Cancel.

Phone numbers and calling

Can I keep my current number?

Moving a number to Crulon (porting) is coming soon. On Scale, you can bring your own carrier and use the numbers you already have for calls.

Can I call other countries?

Numbers from Crulon call the US and Canada. Calls to other countries are coming soon. On Scale, numbers you bring through your own carrier can call other countries today.

Is there a mobile or desktop app?

Not yet: they’re coming soon. Your team answers in the browser on a computer, and on Scale, on SIP desk phones and softphones. See Make and take calls and Set up desk phones.

Which browsers work?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on a computer. Chrome or Edge is best: some features, such as the secondary ringer, need them. See What you need.

Can I call 911?

Yes, from a Crulon number in the US and Canada. Set your workspace’s emergency address first, so the call goes to your local emergency centre. Keep a mobile or landline to hand for emergencies. See Emergency calls.

Can my phone ring in two places?

Yes. A call to you rings your browser and, on Scale, your desk phone together. A secondary ringer plays the ringtone on a second speaker too, so you hear calls with your headset off.

The AI agent

Can I hear what the agent says to callers?

Yes, live or afterwards. Live calls lets you listen in to calls on your lines and take over a call the AI agent has. Afterwards, every call has its recording, transcript and summary in Conversations. See Live calls.

Can the agent hand a caller to a person?

Yes. It sends callers to your team, an outside number or another Call Flow, depending on what they need, and your team sees a note on why they’re calling. See Hand calls to your team.

Which languages does it speak?

English, Spanish and French, in eight accents: US, UK, Australian and New Zealand English, Mexican and Spanish Spanish, and Canadian and French French. Spanish and French need the Classic engine. Each agent speaks one language; to answer in two, build a second agent. See Voice.

Can it book appointments?

Not in a calendar. It can take the caller’s details and open a ticket for your team.

Can it text callers?

No. Your team can text from Conversations, and the agent can’t send texts itself.

Will it change things in my systems without asking?

The agent is told to check with the caller before a Tool changes something, and you write what it confirms for each Tool. Test with Use sample data for tools first. See Checking with the caller first.

Does it learn from my calls?

No. It works from what you give it: its instructions, your documents and its Tools. To change what it does, change those and publish. See Write your agent’s instructions.

What’s the difference between Classic and Live?

Classic says your wording exactly and lets you tune turn-taking. Live listens and speaks at the same time and sounds more natural, but says things in its own words. See Classic and Live.

Your team

What can each role do?

Workspace Admins can do everything. Managers supervise calls, listen to recordings and build AI agents and Call Flows, but can’t manage members or billing. Agents take and make calls, text customers and work tickets. On Scale you can build your own roles. See Invite your team and set roles.

Can I see who listened to a call?

Yes. Conversations shows who played, downloaded, listened in on or read the transcript of the calls you took part in. See Who listened.

Texting

Can I text from my Crulon number?

Yes, in the US and Canada. US numbers, and toll-free numbers in Canada, need to be registered for texting first, which takes a few steps and fees. See Register your numbers for texting.

Do texts cost extra?

Texts your team sends straight away are included, subject to fair use, scheduled texts use credits, and texts you receive are free. See Credits.

Your data

Who can see recordings and transcripts?

Only people whose role allows it. You choose what’s recorded, people with permission can pause a recording during a call, and Crulon keeps a record of who listened. See Recording and voicemail.

Can I export my data?

App activity and campaign results export to CSV. A full export of your workspace isn’t available yet.

Does Crulon have two-step sign-in?

Not yet. Use a strong password: at least 8 characters, with a letter and a symbol. See Password.

Building on Crulon

Is there an API?

A public API is coming soon. Today, Custom Actions let your AI agent call your own API during a call.

What is Ask Crulon?

An assistant inside Crulon that answers questions about your workspace and runs actions for you. Every change it makes waits for your approval, unless it’s one of a few routine ones you’ve chosen not to be asked about again.
